That's an excellent point, Terry.
To me, the oft-heard objection that spectrophotometers produce monitor
profiles that are "noisy" in the shadows always felt overstated to begin
with. And now that we have a reasonably ample choice of DDC-enabled monitors
with internal high-bit LUTs, the objection may be utterly moot when
profiling those models with DDC-enabled software.
