There was an app built with Argyll by Klaus Karcher to do adaptive
gamut mapping, by specifiying the source space; At Photokina 2008 I
was showing samples printed with this to people, but the consensus was
on those samples there were issues. I strongly believe that adaptive
gamut mapping belongs in Photoshop as it is indispensable for art
printing.
