Hi Richard,

Actually my Pioneeer Elite Kuro PRO-150FD had a pretty effective anti-reflection coating on it although, like most any of them, its not 100% effective.

Yeah, apparently these Pioneer Kuro 60" are considered the best of the best,

Is that the case David?

I have the 50" Kuro, and my brother has the 60". I've never seen displays comparable to these. And yes, Roger, I have also heard rumors that they are being phased out. The prices have dropped considerably (as have all plasma displays). The 60" initially sold for nearly $6,500, and it now goes for around $3,500. B&H shows them "back-ordered" with no expected date of availability. There are still some around, though. And I agree - the viewing angle is incredible, and the blacks are as black as I've ever seen on a display. None of the flicker that you often see on LCDs, either.

Pioneer has recently provided a firmware update for both (April/May), which is a good sign.

That said, I'm not sure this would be the best choice for a classroom. There are certainly advantages to a bright projector. The Pioneer plasma displays have a highly reflective glass face, and the viewing experience is without question best in a dimly lit room.
