- Thread-topic: Measuring a light box
Hello. I am trying to use an i1Pro to measure the light on a GTI light box
using i1Share software. I can measure the reflective source with no problem,
but I have a question about measuring the transmissive source. I cannot find
a way in i1Share to measure luminance (only illuminance). Is there something
that I am missing? I thought it could make measurements off of a monitor (in
which case I could trick it into giving me a single measurement instead of a
series of patches), but it looks like I¹m mistaken about that.
My workaround is to use the diffuser cap and simply hold it right in front
of the transparency diffuser. Then I take the reported lux and divide by pi
to get luminance in cd/m^2. I¹m not sure if this is going to give me the
right measurement. It seems like it might be fairly close though.
Suggestions? Thoughts?
Thanks!
Ken
