Hi list,
Does anyone know much about the NBS colour system?
This is all I could find:-
In 1955, the Inter-Society-Color-Council (ISCC) recommended the
classification of colour names at the suggestion of the National
Bureau of Standards (NBS).
Country of origin: USA
Basic colours:Relates to the Munsell system: red, yellow, green, blue
and purple
I have a client and we need to make sure we match the colour of the
Turkish flag very accurately.
The job involves the Turkish national football team!
Apparently, this is the colour:-
Article 3 - (Amended Article: 17/07/1995 - 95/7075 L.)
B) Codes for red and white colors are shown below:
1) Coordinates of Red color are taken as;
Brilliance (brightness) = 27, 5
Redness - Greenness = 44, 8
Yellowness - Blueness = 15, 6
and maximum 3 NBS color difference is accepted.
Would anyone know what this colour is in Lab or CMYK?
Initially I thought they were Lab co-ordinates, but I think not,.
Also, what is a 3 NBS colour difference?
Many Thanks in advance... if anyone knows about this I'm sure they are
on this list!
Graeme
