Hello All,
My client is produces Adobe RGB files as a standard in their office. (applause) I was calibrating two different models of Epson projectors for sales presentations. A Windows XP OS driven laptop was plugged into the projectors.
When displayed, my Adobe RGB test images and their renderings had excellent grays and detail but the reds, browns and yellows had excessive saturation including flesh tones. Both projectors exhibited this color error.
I tried every color setting available in the projector's color menus including sRGB. Then I opened the display control panel for the laptop and switched from the custom made profile (made with Spyder 3 Pro) and defaulted the monitor profile to sRGB.
The color saturation errors were corrected and the detail and gray were fine.
What happened? Why did the custom monitor profile over-saturate those colors?
My Adobe RGB test files are fine. The Epson color settings showed the problem in all modes and the sRGB laptop correction worked in all modes.
