As someone else said download a reference image and evaluate this.

I actually built the pixl testimage (www.pixl.dk > downloads) when an otherwise popular monitor calibration company launched an "improved" puck after forming a strategic alliance with someone else.
Shortly after this my remote printer profiles (which I don't build any more) frequently were rejected by customers as not matching the print.

After building something that can be used as a common reference, and on which it is easy to figure out whether it is displayed correctly or not, it's pretty easy to evaluate - within reason - whether the monitor / calibrator puck / calibration software / printer profile / color conversion is good - or not.

The Pixl Testimage 2009 version is annotated for each part of the image, so open the image in Photoshop and open the notes window for a walkthrough of all the elements.

Hope this helps.

Hi group. Recenlty bought a 7900 and after profiling the printer and monitor (x-rite) I'm getting prints that are consistantly too dark by about 1/2 stop. Using Eizo monitor and Color Navigator. Anyone have any thoughts on this? It's a pretty fair size investment in printer, xrite and Eizo not to be much tighter. I'm not a prepress person or someone with a techy background so please keep responses easy to understand. Thanks for any help offered.
