Hi Jim,
The software combined with the device is the issue. The i1 pro (as a
spectro) does give you exact readings and therefore works correctly with i1
Match on the HP display. But, the i1 Display 2 has neither a built-in
correction for the HP 2475´s LG 102% NTSC S-IPS panel nor does i1 Match
3.6.2 offer such a correction for the i1 Display 2.
Therefore I would not recommend using the i1 Display on a wide gamut display
unless you have a software that does a correction for wide gamut displays.
Given the many different panel type and wide gamut backlight combinations
out there, I doubt that there will an exact correction offered for a
colorimeter. However, I know that some third party software developers work
on generic correction as a compromise.
