Marco,
I did do a request to 20 internet-print-providers 3 years ago, and to
make things clear, I used exactly the same signature
as in this email:
Question 1) You say that providing a PDF is possible. May the PDFs
include fonts? Is it preferable to use PDF/X3?
Question 2) In which CMYK standard should the data be delivered? Do
you provide an ICC profile, or can you tell me which one to use?
2 did not even answer.
5 send a link to the ECI homepage.
3 answered Euroskala (whithout naming which one)
The rest could not answer the question.
Best one: We don't have any standard, neither for PDF nor for CMYK.
The question about the PDF was answered more precisely ;-)
3 had joboptions for PDF, told me PDF/X is optimal or offered a
preflight.
Abstruse answer of a provider that only offered to take TIFFs:
Don't send us a TIFF, send us a PDF.
And the best:
15 of them took me on their mailing list.
Rolf
