Has anyone run into inconsistency issues running Epson Standard
Proofing Paper on a Epson 9900 using the Ultra Chrome HDR ink set. I
made a new Printer Calibration file for this media and calibrated
down under a .75 delta E average. I did all my profiling, got my
color to where I wanted it and two weeks later, my auto calibration
runs into a max delta E of 27.3. I immediately thought that the
inline Spectrophotometer was on it's way out. I took the inline unit
from our other 9900 and got virtually the same reading. I switched to
a new roll of paper and did a new Auto Cal again, this time the max
delta E was 9.5. Changing paper alone knocked the delta E down from a
27 to a 9.5? The print quality looks very good, head alignment was
done, cleaning, etc. I've been using this paper with two Epson
9880's and Ultra Chrome K3 inks for about a year now and they usually
will calibrate down under .75 delta E using GMG calibration wizard in
the first or second iteration. I'm going to rebuild a new Printer
Calibration now and retry this, but has anyone else had any issues
with this combination of paper and ink before?
