Hi Mike,
Profiles from the Kodak Spotless system can be used in AbsoluteProof.
For an N-Color workflow like this one we would only recommend the Epson 7900
or 9900.
The gamut of these printers is sufficient for proofing almost any N-Color
workflow.
As your client is using a violet color it is likely to be a small sacrifice
in that area only.
In this case this would be the weakest point of these printers gamut.
Other printers can be used but you would have to consider gamut
restrictions.
You can also use these profiles for softproofing in AbsoluteProof.
Other N-Color ICC profiles such as from the Heidelberg ColorToolbox, Monaco,
and ProfileMaker are also supported.
Another N-Color feature we have introduced and could be of interest is that
you can generate your own multicolor colorbars to print with every proof for
color verification, you can also include your company Logo, a disclaimer,
signoff or what ever you want print there. Alternatively you can use our
default multicolor colorbars.
In this case this would be a 7 color bar CMYKOGV and it would be processed
through the spotless profile and printed on the long edge of the proof.
If you are interested you could send me your monitor profile, the Spotless
profile and CMYKOGV 1bit or 8bit files and I could send you back a soft
proof. FTP would be preferred for file transfer due to size of the files.
Alternatively you could subscribe to AbsoluteProof. The cost is only
$100-200 pr month, all upgrades, drivers and online support inclusive.
Tax deductable expense.
This is an area we have been specializing in.
We invented Multicolor InkJet proofing in 2002 and have been in the
forefront in this sector of the industry since then.
