Ernst,
My old Ilford Multigrade prints, which I made over 25 years ago, still show
a distinct blue glow under a UV light, to this day. I'm told that the OBAs
reside deeply embedded into those gelatin papers, safely shielded from
direct contact with air, and thus not subject to oxidation (and the
consequent gradual changes in apparent paper color).
I don't know how accurate that assessment is. The fact remains that there
were indeed OBAs in the quality silver-based gelatin ("wet") papers which we
used to use in the darkroom.

I have inspected prints made in "B&W" mode with both Epson and HP printers,
under a 100x handheld microscope. There definitely are detectable chromatic
inks in the mix, not just "neutral" ones, even when producing
neutral-looking B&W prints (i.e., no toning).
To say that chromatic inks are not being used (if that is what is implied
here) does not correspond to verifiable fact.

No. I already explained my reasons in my previous messages. They are the
kind of concepts that you will find in classic color science textbooks like
Roy Bern's "Principles of Color Technology". You don't need to ask ME for
validation. Please go directly to the source.
