I'm making scans with a Creo iQsmart 3 scanner and embedding the scanner
profile (ICC) in the scans which are .tif.
I'm using Aperture to make some quick adjustments to the files. Aperture
seems to have trouble with these files - it basically can't read the .tif
files if they have the Oxygen ICC scanner profile. I am confident saying
this because Aperture can recognize the files if I simply convert the
profile to Adobe RGB 1998 in Photoshop or embed Adobe RGB 1998 in the scan
as it is being made. Further testing shows that the files with the scanner
profile can be opened in Photoshop, iPhoto, Preview, etc.
It would seem that just letting the scanner driver do the conversion to
Adobe RGB 1998 would be adequate - we can use the files and keep working.
However, I would like to resolve why the scanner profile isn't readable in
Aperture.
We ran ColorSync Utility and found several of the iQSmart profiles have
problems. Specifically with the profile in question the message reads:
/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/iQ.Input Profiles/@Reflective_iQsmart
Header creator is not correct.
Should I just let the Utility correct this?
