A) Ernst assured to me that he wouldn't quote from our private exchange, but
he did anyway, no matter how "harmless" he may think the quote is (which,
after giving his word, is not for him to decide unilaterally). So it's
neither inaccurate nor a stretch to say that that makes him a liar. Just for
the record.
B) If the thread got "heated", all the involved parties can do a bit of
soul-searching/sleuthing and find for themselves the answer as to who
started dialing up the thermostat by repeatedly and willfully -- and in a
tone of increasing dismissiveness and provocation -- ignoring, disrespecting
and distorting the meaning of the OP's messages (that would be ME, in case
it's not clear).
Unless you all decide that standing up for myself, and for what I know is
right, means that I'm a troll (after a decade or so on this forum?) --
rather than, far more simply, a participant who has reasons to feel very
deeply slighted and irritated, and is losing his patience with this mounting
heap of abuse he's being targeted and tormented with.
I would ask our ombudsman, John Gnaegy, to issue a public reprimand if he
thinks that I'm a troll, and threaten me with expulsion, if he deems it
appropriate.
I'm making sure to cc this message to John, in case he should otherwise fail
to receive and read it for any reason.
By the way, I opened the thread ["Metamerism vs Color Inconstancy, again"],
and I hereby declare it CLOSED.
Meaning that I can't keep you all from going forward with it, but I'm done.
Which should make no difference, since my points have been amply ignored so
far, besides twisted out of recognition just for good measure.
Marco Ugolini
