Hi Klaus,
When I asked that we start this project ,about one year ago, I asked for a two year window for first technical review. I believe that there will be some snippets available in late February, after our meeting in Japan. As I said, it will be available for non-member review, but we need to do some testing first. There is a first class team of people working on this and hopefully we can get this done on a quicker schedule than the earlier specifications. The boundary description is being done with input from other organizations and technical disciplines. I am trying to get as much technical input as possible before we start formulating the specification. My principal focus with this organization is to increase transparency in the development process and keep pushing for schedule.
I would also be interested in hearing some feed back on the XML tools mentioned in the post. I anticipate that we will be interacting with the color community in much the same fashion as we are now with these new tools.
Thanks,
Tom L.

open source? a new gamut boundary description? flexibility in the
selection of PCS illuminant and CMF? optional spectral PCS? Sounds
really great to me! Where/when can we get more detailed information
(spec drafts, code snippets, ..)?
