Hi Klaus,
When I asked that we start this project ,about one year ago, I asked for
a two year window for first technical review. I believe that there will
be some snippets available in late February, after our meeting in Japan.
As I said, it will be available for non-member review, but we need to do
some testing first. There is a first class team of people working on
this and hopefully we can get this done on a quicker schedule than the
earlier specifications. The boundary description is being done with
input from other organizations and technical disciplines. I am trying to
get as much technical input as possible before we start formulating the
specification. My principal focus with this organization is to increase
transparency in the development process and keep pushing for schedule.
Great :-)
I guess Graeme Gill can make valuable contributions to the process as he
has already developed an infrastructure to create an use spectral model
based device profiles (see <http://argyllcms.com/doc/mppprof.html> and
<http://argyllcms.com/doc/mpplu.html>).
Also the Group around Philipp Urban (Institute of Printing Science and
Technology Darmstadt,
<http://www.idd.tu-darmstadt.de/forschung_dienstleistung/farbe/color_research/color_research.en.jsp>)
and might be interested to participate in the process as they do
excellent work in the field of spectral reproduction.
Last but not least: The group around Roger Hersch and Romain Rossier
(EPFL Lausanne, <http://diwww.epfl.ch/w3lsp/>) has developed several
spectral prediction models and should be well versed with the
environment required to implement and parameterize device models.
