I like to use PMP - Premium Matte Paper. Checkout the chart of recommended media settings for 3rd party papers on the Canon iPF wiki at:

And if you haven't already, calibrate your printer (using the on-board calibration process) prior to any profiling. Then you'll be able to recalibrate as needed (once a year or so, or after head replacements) and not have to re-create profiles. The ability to get dead-on consistent results over time is nice.
