I asked Tobias Rausch of Xrite about the EULA, he says that it was designed
to thwart automated web use of the software for money. He indicates that
following the comments on this list and LL the EULA is being rewritten, and
that in any case Xrite has no intention of restricting the normal business
of color consultants.
My own take is that it looks like this EULA may push some consultants to
Argyll, just because it avoids licensing issues. It's sad to see a company
invest man years of work in engineering and user interface work, only to
see the job sabotaged by mediocre lawyer work.
