I still have my Spectrocam--no UV cut. here I thought it was a pretty
good instrument for the time. Sadly its only serial connection and
there's little direct support for it these days. I also still have
Profiler Pro and Doctor Pro. You have to measure your chart and import
the table into Profiler Pro. I don't think I'm getting the best profiles
these days with this arcane stuff.

David

And, no, compensating for OBCs in software is not possible. It may look
like a contradiction taht we do it in basICColor print as well, but this
is only guesswork. If your spectral reflectance exceeds a factor of 1 in
the blues, you can be sure that optical brighteners are present -- but
there is no way to determine, how big the effect is. This is only
possible, if you compare an M1 (with UV in the illuminant) and an M2 (UV
cut) measurement. And the Konica Minolta FD-7 is the first (and
presently the only) instument capable of measuring under M1 conditions.
With this instrument you donĀ“t have to guess, what your viewing light
is, just measure it and use it as the measure illuminant.

Though M1 didn't exist at the time of its development, how far off
that standard would you consider the SpectroCam?
