Hello all:
>From some point of view, it's is funny.
For me, as photographer, is the same a LCD display in camera that a
tablet or the latest cellular. Can be used as auxiliary tools, but not
are the right tools.
Have sense that we can use those devices some day the same way we know
the real posibilities of our cameras, scanners, displays, printers
(their gamuts), colorimeters, spectrometers and software. Meanwhile,
if manufacturers want to follow with the development of such devices
(phones and tablets) for a market to which doesn't matters color
management but are happy with their still images and their motion
pictures, and receiving prizes and mentions in contests, and want to
call them photographers and filmakers and their jobs tagged as
photographs and cinema (for some the eighth and seventh art), I'll
shut up my mouth.
Captured images, known as photographs, are a way to share sensations
to the absent. You can consume bad books, bad photography, bad image
capture devices and bad food if you want, but not me.
And about the debate, I vote to support sRGB at a starting point.
One photographer's point of view ;)
Salud
