Dear Louis and Rick
Thank you for the information on these devices and the current state of color management on them.
While a CM app may not be available on the devices themselves, cannot one profile a device, then
convert the profile of images meant for that device so that they then appear correct on that
device, regardless of whether any of the apps are truly color aware? Seems that if you are
constantly creating images to show on such a device it would be simple enough to fudge the image
before it loads on that device to display correctly. Of course, a different device would show
those same images incorrectly. I am just suggesting that if someone has a portable device to
show images on, they could tweak their images to display correctly. Make sense?
Regards, Jurgen Richter
The problem is that the iPad has a very different color gamut compared to sRGB. Specially in the
blue hue and the saturation overall.
If you prefer to think they look the same... It is up to you!
My point about color management for the iPad is more about magazine, publications, etc. were
color is as much important as their printed versions.
