Hi Roger, maybe my post wasn't completely clear.The condition you describe is the expected one.
What was happening in this case was original files supplied by the photographer were placed directly into the page but when the designer alt clicked to load them into PS the colour appearance was markedly different.
When arriving into PS the file carried an Adobe98 tag, but in the links dialogue in ID the file showed as Document RGB, which was sRGB as set through the Bridge colour settings, so the image looked dull and desaturated by comparison.
Klaus has pointed out that the likely cause is the original file not being tagged with Adobe98 but just carrying the intention in Exif data. PS honours the exit data but ID treats the image as untagged leading to the colour appearance mismatch.
