Hello Bryan,

MeasureTool can do such a trick on the patches it reads. There is no harm done unless the patch names are used by the software (such as for specific IT8 patches which must meet specific criterias).

This naming system (a letter for the column and a number for the row) has been used by MeasureTool and others (including PatchTool sold by my company).

May I suggest opening the file in PatchTool, use the Re-map command to flip the rows and collumns (Flip R/C), then re-name the patches using also the Re-map command; finally flip the rows and collumns again. The patches should be named in the original manner.

If you use an i1 Pro, you could also open your original file in PatchTool or use one of the IDEAlliance files provided with the program), use the PatchTool Reader tool and measure the strip. There would be no need to correct the patches names afterward.

I don't know where to ask this, but hopefully someone here might know the
answer.

I ran the IDEAlliance Control Strip (2009) and read it into MeasureTool.

In MeasureTool, the top row is labeled A1, A2, A3, etc. through to A27. The
bottom row is B1, B2, B3, etc. through to B27. So the rows are lettered, the
columns are numbered. This matches the visual of the control strip, which
has the top row labeled A and the bottom is B.

In the text file that MeasureTool saves, the top row is A1, B1, C1, through
to 2A1. The bottom row is A2, B2, C2, through to 2A2. The opposite of
MeasureTool, here the rows are numbered, the columns are lettered.

Anyone know why the discrepancy in how the results are named? Does this
serve a purpose that I'm just not aware of perhaps?
