From Terrie: I inadvertently chose Absolute Colormetric as
my Rendering Intent--this was in Photoshop...
Not sure if Apeture allows a choice of Rendering Intent but if so, it
might be worth checking?
Aperture provides a choice of Perceptual and Relative Colormetric, I get the same problem with both. You're right though, the symptom looks similar to an Absolute Colormetric render, except that, as with Martin's example, the stray dots don't interfere with the images. Instead they lie around them, leaving a 5mm clear white border at the edges, presumably the non printing area as specified by page setup.
My profile's were made with ColorMunki but I get the same problem when using Epson's canned profiles. No problem with Photoshop or Preview, so far only Aperture. Just out of interest I posted the problem on the Aperture list a couple of days ago, so far no replies so it doesn't look like they fancy it over there at all !
Regards
