Hi Jon,
I agree with Marc that you probably can't get what you need from normal "off the shelf" software.
Basically what I see you needing is, at minimum, a system that will ignore a whole bunch of patches. Preferably, you need a system that will perform a specific style of scan so you don't need to read the patches in the first place.
I don't know what QC system you are using so I don't know if the use of Maxwell is appropriate but it seems wise to mention what can be done:
- available today, Maxwell can be configured to selectively ignore patches in measurement files. Our ColorShuttle utility (device-driving software client for Maxwell) does not drive the iO directly - yet - but can be configured with hot folders. So today, your client could scan the whole target in ColorPort or MeasureTool and then save into a hot folder. Maxwell would take care of the rest.
- In the future we plan on driving the iO directly with ColorShuttle (it already drives the i1 Pro and the iSis, including bar-code routing, etc). At that time we could configure it to scan only specified rows or perhaps rows with specific positions (which would allow the separate row groups to be miss-aligned with each other)
So, perhaps Maxwell can do what you need? If this sounds like it might, or you have other ideas we can help with, please let either me or Rick Hatmaker know. I've cc'd him in this email.

Steve

When Colorport or MeasureTool spits out the 2 chart pages, lay them out in you test form where you would like them to go. You will need to set your anchor points for each of the top and bottom sections, but that's fairly quick to do. Also, because it's an iO, there are basically no external marks outside the patches themselves (and the corner-mark indicators)... so there would be no test-form real estate penalty for creating 2 pages.

I need to layout a chart that has two rows at the top of the sheet and two rows at the bottom of the sheet with ten rows of nothing in the middle. I would like it to skip the ten rows in the middle and with no measurements in that area. I can get it to work if the reference for those ten rows are set to paper white but this method would skew my averages.
