Well, contrary to some people's *rules*, we have always been able to print to the 9600, 9880 and 9900 without setting any margin values.
The only printing issues that we've had have always arisen with 44" roll paper -- which the both the driver and Epson's documentation is woefully inadequate in discussing.
I don't even understand why the subject of margins should even appear in the user dialogues? Either the printer prints edge-to-edge or it doesn't. If it doesn't then the acknowledged limitations of the printer should be hard coded in the driver.
The whole borderless, borderless-banner, borderless-banner-auto-expansion options smack of extremely weak development and design to me.
These printers should work the same way that professional RIPs work: the currently loaded media dimensions provide the limitations if you are using cut sheets or the media width in the case of roll paper. If your job fits the preview in whatever app you're using then that's what you expect to get out of the printer.

The Epson documentation for UK/Europe doesn't give "standard margins" for 44" roll paper. It even waffle's on about the need to sometime having to "fool the printer" by setting odd media sizes and auto-expansion options.
As we need the ability to place images in specific places on a roll and have them reproduce to exact sizes, repeatably, this really isn't good enough.

Yeah, the prints look stunning.
I do like the 9900 a lot -- especially as it has removed the necessity to maintain two wide format printers just so we could run both photo and matte black inks.
