We have all Macs and for some reason an alias did not occur to me. I tried
it and it does in fact work. If I don't change the name of the network
profile, but I make a new one with the same name, the alias appears to
continue to link correctly. So finally I have a way to update just one
profile and everyone will have it automatically. I wish I thought of this
years ago! Thanks for the suggestion.
