Yes indeed (the reason to use ProPhoto). But there are 'colors' defined in ProPhoto that fall outside human vision. Those are therefore not colors and no device could (should or will) produce them. Maybe my dog could see them but we can't. So the idea not to use ProPhoto because no device can or will render them isn't a useful argument against this color space.
