With openSUSE 12.3:
* Printing the CMYK TIFF you sent me gave basically a gray page with
narrow vertical stripes.
* Converting it to PDF using ImageMagick, and verifying with "identify
-verbose file.tif", printed correctly, in CMYK mode. I verified this
both from the CUPS error log (where Gutenprint indicated that it was
in CMYK mode) and by visual inspection of the output with a 5x loupe.
So the core print chain works, but imagetoraster appears to have
problems with at least CMYK TIFFs.
