Would any of you out there like an ESECO SpeedmasterTransmission Densitometer? It's free, except for shipping costs. I am moving out of my current space and cannot take it with me, so I can either donate or toss the machine. It is vintage 1970, and was the first transistorized densitometer on the market. That was back in the days when I did die transfers. Since then it has been in its shipping box sitting on a shelf. The only thing that is wrong with it is that the rubber collar that blocked stray light from the measurement probe has dried out and fallen away. It shouldn't be too hard to cobble together a replacement.
The only caveat is that it is heavy, maybe twenty pounds or more, and may cost a bit in UPS charges. It will take me some time to reinforce the old box for shipment, so in that respect the dumpster looks appealing. BTW, it cost more than a thousand bucks in 1970 dollars, so it is a heavy, well built machine. ...and if for some reason it no longer works (it did when I boxed it up and put it on the shelf) you'll have a nifty machine with lots and lots of dials and a big analog meter that you can play Space Ranger with.
