Silly me. Photoshop will chromatically adapt any non-D50-based chromaticies. Calibrating a monitor to D65 is only a recipe for Photoshop's Bradford chromatic adaptation matrix to kick in. The only way around chromatic adaptation in the present D50-based ICC system is to stick with D50-based references such as eciRGB and ColormatchRGB and LstarRGB and BetaRGB and ProPhotoRGB.
