If your media product has no defined color encoding, then even if someone wanted to go
to the trouble of seeing what you intended, has no hope. You're outputting random rubbish.
If on the other hand your output is encoded to a standard that display makers
at least cross check against (ie. sRGB), then on average everyone will see
roughly what you intended, and someone who was prepared to go to more
trouble can see exactly what you intended.
