Print-Tool uses the same technique as Adobe Color Print Utility to force a
null transform. It works with the Epson
driver and my own QTR driver. So ACPU, PT and also PS will show
"Colorsync" in the Color Matching dialog and
not allow Vendor Matching but this just ensures NoCM in the Print Settings
of the driver dialog below.
Its a bit of a kludgy technique but seems to be the OS X standard now so
I'm hoping it's stable for the future.
BTW, if you do let Print-Tool do the print profile conversion, it uses the
standard Apple ColorSync.
I don't use Canon printers or drivers so I'm not sure that this will work
similarly but I'd expect so. But I don't
know about the magic XML file and whether that's an issue. If you get a
chance to try it I'd like to hear
whether it works as you need.
Thanks,
Roy
