Yes, it does say something.
ColorSync is irrelevant and has been for a very long time.
I only care about it if it does stuff that is annoying or does stuff that catches me out.
If Apple decided to make it relevant for professional colour work back in 2011 then they should have publicised their intentions and features and then, just maybe, people would take more of an interest in it...

That’s about the last time that I bothered to look at it, while filing bug reports.

That has been the case for the two decades I’ve been around here. I can’t think of another Apple list where the technology in the list name is ignored as much as this one… which is why I made the Fight Club reference earlier :)
