The legacy iPF driver forced ColorSync color transforms unless an application as specifically named in a semi-secret XMP file installed with the driver. So if the app you are using isn’t named in this list you can’t turn off color management in the driver. This was, IMO, an increadibly stupid decision by Canon that I pointed out in beta testing (over a decade ago?). Doyle Yoder has loyally been maintaining a more complete XMP file and hosting it with installation instructions for years now, which has been a big help in getting around this problem. So if you want to print profiling targets from ACPU, CS Utility, etc you won’t be able to do so without Doyle’s XMP hack because these apps are listed in Canon’s stock XMP file.

The new Canon large format printers were announced yesterday. http://bit.ly/1THhYp0 <http://bit.ly/1THhYp0> Not only is it all new hardware, it’s all new software as well. I’ve found the new driver to be pretty solid and it clearly allows unadulterated printing without color transforms from any app capable of it (CS Utility, ACPU, etc).

In other news, Epson’s 64” 20,000 and S80 are pretty darn cool too...
