Still trying to wrap my head around the impact of the new M0 vs M1 measurement
modes.
So I undertook to compare readings using instruments
I have access to, Konica Minolta FD-9 and FD-7, Techkon Spectrodens II (M0),
i1Pro2 and 528 (M0).
Summary of my findings in PDF available here:
https://1drv.ms/b/s!AkD78CVR1NBqkLUs_vxByslr_IwLkQ
The results are quite encouraging. I wish I could have included eXact and the
latest Spectrodens IV or Barbieri or iSis2...
One study (Sharma) I came across suggested more variation between different
models in M0 mode but I could not replicate this on the basis of my
measurements. This study also concluded that there was less variation between
different models in M1 mode, which matches my findings.
Given the slew of "Fogra51/52" related posts, lately, I intend to pursue with
creating M1-based ICC profiles on OB substrates to test Refik and Martin rants
about the "weird" (cold?) color separations behaviors they observed in their
respective practices... This should prove interesting 😊 to say the least.
Thank you all for your patience.
