This is a known problem in 10.1 and won't be fixed until a major
update to the System (the guilty party is actually login window)

When trying to unload the AppleUSBAudio driver, the following

written to the system log: "AppleUSBAudioEngine has 1
instance(s)". The

resolved? Since this prevents me from unloading the driver, I
must reboot
the system to test changes. If the problem hasn't been resolved,
is there
a method of forcefully unloading the driver? I am currently
unloading the
driver with the command "kextunload -m com.apple.driver.AppleUSBAudio".
