I have a sound editing program that works fine on OS 9.2 but when it's

available.
There are a few steps you can do to verify if this is a problem of the
app or of the system:
- If you are writing a simple CoreAudio software that query the hardware
for connected devices what do you see? Or if you have the dev tools
installed there should be a application called Daisy in the CoreAudio
Examples fodler that will do it for you?
- does the Speech recognition panel present the device as a choice?
Is this an app you are writing or that you are using. If this is the
last case maybe you should contact the autor.
Also the OSX Sound control panel does not show sound input
options, only output and alerts, and there is no way to record new
alerts as
in 9.2.
This does not mean that the underlying stack does not support it. There
are plenty of apps using input properly (iMovie, Speech panel, Amadeus
as a 3rd part for example).
