I tried to play a CD track with NSSound (initWithContentsOfFile),
but it did not work. Did somebody try this and get it work?

Joe.

Just to clarify my previous post, I want to read files (i.e songs) off of
an audio CD into my Carbon application; I amn pretty sure AIFF is not
used to store the files on audio CDs.

I know this is the core audio list, but it might be worth mentioning that the same
holds true for QuickTime playback. CD tracks "appear" as AIF files, so no need to
import/convert for playback. Just open the file and play.
