We did a few multichannel demos at WWDC this past year.
One was playing back multi-channel AC-3 content using a hardware
decoder. This demo was done entirely using HAL code.
Another was a demo of the new 3D mixer doing 5.1 output. This was done
strictly with AudioUnit code.
At no time did we demo using QT to play back this content. Nor did we
demo multi-channel AAC content.

I heard that there was a demo at the Apple developer conference where
Quicktime was being used to playback discrete multichannel audio. How
was
this done? The what's new in QT6 pdf doc says that multichannel AAC
decoding is not possible yet?
We are desperately looking for a way to output multichannel audio from
a mac
from a web browser based environment. We've used digidesign hardware
in
other demos to get multichannel sound, but we would like to have all
audio
playback take place in the web browser environment. Any
suggestions??? ANY
help is greatly appreciated. Please share your knowledge.
