iMic pops and clicks

I've been trying to record with an iMic interface but even with several
different programs I get pops and clicks every 10 seconds or so. Griffen
offers no help. Is this a known problem with that device?

My setup:

Powermac G4 733
512mb ram
OS 10.1.5

Programs I've tried:
Amadeus
Soundhack
Bias Peak
