For the CoreAudio/AU managers at Apple:
I think more info on AUs is needed..
Why not opening a public web page where potential AU developers can easily
find in a single place:
1) All the docs about AU
2) The complete sources of a few working AU plugins (even if they are only a
volume control or a panner)
3) If AU is a superset of VST, write some tips about porting from VST to AU.
That will help a lot.
4) A public forum with full search capability. A mailing list is not
adeguate for knowledge building/sharing.
It's imperative that audio plugin developer get this info soon, or anyone
will simply continue writing VST stuff
and AU will suffer as a consequence...
The site must be public, or you will lose the contribute of a miriad of
plugin developers.
Check www.kvr-vst.com and look the awesome quantity of stuff available just
because Steinberg gave developers a free developer toolkit.
