What happened to Audio Units?

Hi,
I am watching this list since 6 months, but there seems to be no
information about Audio Units. I admit that there is another list, that
discusses them? Can a friendly mind please point me there?
Also I still miss any kind of documentation regarding AU's. Who takes
care of all this? Bill Steward doesn't answer questions about this any
more, so who is the right person to ask?
