MIDI Feedback in Logic and Cubase

  • Subject: MIDI Feedback in Logic and Cubase

I'm getting reports that Cubase and Logic are both getting into feedback loops of
death when they're used with iMIDI local loopback MIDI endpoint. It seems that
users are no longer able to choose which MIDI input is live and thus any and all
MIDI data is received by these apps - even if it generated by them.

I know at least emagic folks monitor this list and I would imagine some Steinberg
people do as well.

How are users supposed to send MIDI data out of these DAWs to other MIDI apps
if they can't distinguish? Or should all MIDI apps publish a virtual destination as
standard?

What's up?

Thanks,

Robert.
