Slightly confusing item in 10.2.3 update notes

  • Subject: Slightly confusing item in 10.2.3 update notes

In the list of "Enhancements" for today's 10.2.3 update (found at
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107263), I see this:

"Refines MIDI device support by removing compatibility for MIDI devices that
are connected via a serial port (which Apple has not shipped with machines
for several years)."

So does this imply that the work on a MIDI Timepiece driver that was
mentioned on this mailing list previously has been abandoned?
