I tried using miditester and miditiming after having _apparently_ run the
installer:
MIDISPORT.pkg (from MIDISPORT-2.0.1.b.MOX.pk Folder)
The installer appeared to succeed but no file appeared. I tried installing
again, this time into
/library/audio/mididrivers
instead of the default location, but the folder remained empty.
Does any one have an OS X driver that will work with the MIDISPORT 2x2 (or
the MOTO Fastlane for that matter). The MIDISPORT driver was the only one I
could find to download. I found an article claiming that MOTU had released
OS X drivers for Fastlane etc.:
http://www.videography.com/brief/mainv/0,7220,32381,00.html
but found no such drivers on their site. Doing a search for "OS X" on
www.motu.com site revealed a note from last year that there was currently no
support for OS X.
Where is everybody getting their OS X MIDI drivers?
There are the two "default" apple drivers (serial and USB) already installed
on my system. The apple document:
http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Darwin/IOKit/DeviceDrivers/Writin
gAudioDrivers/WritingAudioDrivers.pdf
mentions them but does not really say anything about them.
The sample apps from Herbie Robinson fill a big gap, but what about drivers?
Apparently lots of people already have them. How did they find out?
Thanks,
