MacOS X ships with a class compliant USB MIDI and Audio driver, so devices
that support these standards should be plug and play. (You'll need to have
at least the 10.1.2 update for the MIDI class driver to work).
I'm not sure if we have a list of supported devices - many of the USB Audio
devices will work with the built in driver because most of the USB Audio
interfaces are class-compliant out of the box, or with a firmware update
generally available from the manufacturer (like the EMI from Emagic)
MIDI is a different story... There are some compliant devices on the market
- some of the Edirol line is, Evolution keyboard and some others that slip
my mind at the moment. However, most of the MIDI interfaces have had drivers
shipped for Mac OS X - Other Roland and Edirol devices, MIDIMan, MoTU, are
some that come to mind.
If I've left any out, I'm sure others can provide info on other supported
devices
