porting from linux

Hi

I did not have a lot of success on the unix-porting mailing list with this question ...

I'm porting MixMagic, a multi-tracks app to MacOSX which reads and writes only RIFF WAVE files.

I modified a bit the wave-header parsing to have little-endian / big-endian conversion through the wave-header.

Right now, when I load a sound, it comes in much too loud, clipping all the way through. I have to greatly reduce the gain of the wave file before trying to load it. Then it will come out OK but if I try to mix down to disk it gets some channels too soft some loud.

Is there something obvious going on around here that I'm missing ?

Thank you

yves
