I just tested the Pitch Bend problem again under OS X 10.2.1 with QT 6.0.2
It does not work!
I posted a small code snippet in coreaudio-api digest, Vol 2 #354
Anyone can check that it does **not** "work to spec..."

No problem to use the CoreAudio API for the OS X version
but there are still more users under OS 8/9 than under OS X that want it to work OK
