As an aside, the update rate is tied to the computer's bus speed,
specifically it is 1/4 of the main system bus (at least currently, this
is probably subject to change, and I understand may not even be correct
for some processor upgraded systems). So if your running on the newer
PowerMacs or PowerBooks you should see ~33-42 Mhz updates. And for
those curious, this counter is the Realtime Clock register on the CPU,
accessible via Uptime() (in Carbon) and related functions that work
with the AbsoluteTime data type.
